Designer. Art director IL / Il Sole 24 ORE, Journalist, Professor. Author of Designing News and The Intelligent Lifestyle Magazine

I’m an Italian graphic designer and journalist born in 1982.
Since 2008 I have been the creative director of IL, the magazine of Il Sole 24 ORE.

I graduated cum laude at Politecnico di Milano, where I gained a Master degree in Industrial Design in 2007. My thesis focused on newspaper design, and suggested a new design paradigm for the redesign of a newspaper.

I’m a professor at IUAV University of Venice and IED Istituto Europeo di Design, and also a lecturer at Singapore Management University, New York School of Visual Arts, Politecnico di Milano, SISSA Trieste, Fabrica, SUPSI Lugano, Domus Academy, IULM, and Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.

My latest book is The Intelligent Lifestyle Magazine – Smart Editorial Design, Ideas and Journalism (Gestalten 2016). I also published Designing News – Changing the World of Editorial Design and Information Graphics (Gestalten 2013).

During my career I have won many awards including European Design Awards, D&AD Awards, SPD Awards, and the Compasso d’Oro ADI Award.
My works have been published and exhibited in several countries, recently at the V&A Museum in London and at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.

I’m member of The Society of Publication Designer – SPD, The Society for News Design – SND, and professional member of AIAP, the Italian Council of Communication Design.
